St. John’s UMC has been an anchor in the Coal Township community for almost 200 years! We have changed buildings but we have never changed our love for God and for God’s people. Originally an Evangelical congregation, then Evangelical United Brethren (EUB), with the merger of the EUB and the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1968, we became St. John’s United Methodist Church. The names have changed but not our commitment to worshiping God and serving our community in the name of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Libby has been the pastor here at St. John's since July 2025. She earned her M.Div from Princeton Theological Seminary in the Spring of 2025 and was commissioned as a Provisional Elder in the UMC at the 2025 Annual Conference. She is excited to be in ministry with our church. Her office hours are Monday through Thursday. Please reach out to schedule an appointment.
